I was recently prescribed Augmentin to clear up a bacterial throat infection, however all the augmentin did was hurt me/not help me. It gave me a yeast infection badly. Ive never had one before this. However, my boyfriend and I had sex before I realized it was infact a yeast infection. It was like 1-2 days before I found out it.

Can he get it? and if he was to get it, would he already be showing symptoms? Its been about 4 days now. What are the symptoms for a yeast infection in a man? The same as a woman?

yes, he can get it. if he shows signs (redness on his penis, discharge, itching) he needs to go see a doctor so they can prescribe flagyl. do not have unprotected sex with him until you are well and sure the infection is gone in BOTH of you, or else you will keep giving it back to each other, which is not good because it will get harder and harder to kill it off .

There’s a slight possibility he can get it in the mouth, throat but it’s highly unlikely. Still I would avoid sex until it’s gone.

I doubt he has it. If you were not having discomfort or discharge at the time of intercourse I doubt he does. But after you heal, if you get another one after intercourse, he should probably get treated. Most men do not have symptoms. If you get them with intercourse it means he probably does. He will have to go to his doctor for medication. He can not treat it with OTC meds.

Yes he can get it. I am a male person and this has happened to me. My gf said she had a rash near her pussy and I told her I was uncomfortable about doing anything, but then that hurt her feelings so I had to do her to make up for it. My instincts were correct though… she went to the doc and found that she had a yeast infection, 3 days later my balls started itching uncontrollably all day long, and even worse it started chafing and there were cracks in the skin on my phallus. It was painful to do anything with it, even sex. :(

So being a man, naturally I was inhibited about going to the Doctor, because we men believe that Docs are not that helpful and that the human body is capable of healing any sort of damage or malady by itself. It doesn’t matter what it is… Amputation, gun shot wound, a yeast infection, us men can handle it, because we are macho! lol. Okay so then I used my noodle brain thingy and went online and searched for a topical antifungal, and search results popped up for jock itch creams, there was actually quite a variety, with each having very different active ingredients; zinc nitrate, terbinafine hydrochloride, etc… So the next day I went to CVS and picked up a tube of generic jock itch cream from the itch relief isle. Only cost about 7$, I applied it and the next day, bang!, no more itching or chafing or cracked painful skin. I applied it for 5 more days just to make sure though.

Now both she and I are free of genital yeast infection and are living happily ever after.
