Overweight and chronic yeast infections?

I am trying to figure out WHY I have been having so many yeast infections. It is either yeast or bacterial vaginosis (its seems like they ping pong off of eachother.) I have gained 30 lbs in the last 1 year 1/2, but have recently lost 12 of those lbs. Wwhhoooo!!!! Anyways, I weight 157
but when I was thinner 140 hardly ever had this problem. Please help. I am treating an infection as we speak.

PS. I dont eat carbs ( I do low carb diet) and dont have the symptoms of diabetes. I am 26 Over the summer I threw away all my thongs and got all cotton, and STILL get the infections.
if you have yeast infection then you must get rid of it as soon as it is possible!!!
if you really want to get rid of yeast infection then you must follow these tips:
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.
2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.
3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.
4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.
5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.
7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

Chronic yeast infections everytime I have sex??

I have asked similar questions like this before and have done hours of research on the internet, and so has my older sister since she has the same problem. Anyway EVERY SINGLE time I have sex ( and I have had sex with 4 different guys in my life) anyway, EVERY time I get a yeast infection, so bad…that it takes months to cure it. I get all the best creams in the world, eat a ton of yogurt, take the right kind of vitamins for it to bring my body back to normal and eliminate chances of more yeast growth…I wear loose clothes and pads if I have my period, I keep the area dry, I stay away from foods with yeast, I drink this special tea imported from Europe that is really hard to get..etc…

So I have sex and then get the yeast infections and then wait a year after healing myself like crazy, and then when I have sex again after a year.. I am back to where I started. ITS SOO FRUSTRATING!! Gyno’s dont give me any good advice and I am desperate. Are my sister and I carrying some bad gene?
I just want to know if this is normal, if me and my sister carry some kind of gene that makes us so sensitive down there and so prone to yeast infections..or if this will eventually pass when I reach my late 20′s and my hormones change. I am not diabetic..and I sometimes use and sometimes don’t use condoms. Same applies for my sister

well you mentioned the vitamins and the yogurt but you never mentioned anything about taking the right anti-biotic, one effective one would be daktacort or daktarine cream (vaginal use 2%) the tube is white and green, scientific name is miconazole. but in your case and since it is severe, i will advise you to use gyno-daktarin; it looks like a suppository that you would insert in your vagina, you put it at night while you are sleeping and layed down, if you put it during the day the medication will sip out and you wouldn’t get the whole benifit. don’t use it while you have your period for the same reason(will be flushed out of your body with blood).wear a night pad coz it is going to be messy anyway.
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
get the srongest concentration gynodaktarin 400 mg and use it for 3 consecutive days( the pharmasist and the doctor will tell yuo to use it once but based on on-line reaserch and personal experience, you can use it as frequent as you need. for maximum effect place the suppos i your vagina and apply the cream on the outter part of your vagina(clitoris and labia’s) you will be cured in three days or a max of one week . Meanwhile you have to make sure within this week or 3 days to :
1- use a new fresh towel each time you dry yourself down there not to cross-infection
2- wash your underwear with hot water dry it in the sun or iron it to kill all the germs that could be still there. washing in cold water is not enough you cant kill all the germs only by washing you should apply heat
3- don’t cross towels you and your sister
4- wash always after intercourse only with warm water inside your vagina and don’t apply antiseptics coz it will kill your normal flora (your immunity on the wall of vagina) and make you more prone and succiptable to infection. wash the outer part with soap only
5-use the gynodaktarin of a less concentration i think it’s 100mg once a month profilactically ( just in case)
after you clear you find sometimes white discharge around the time when you are going to have your period don’t worry itnis normal it is only your vagina cleaning itself.
If you are having a sex partner at the moment he should also take dactacort tablets or an anti fungual medication coz usually guys can be carriers with no symptoms. Same rule applies if you are thinking about getting together with any of your old bf coz they will give it back to you.

Chronic yeast infections from switch in birth control pills?
November 20, 2010 by admin
Hello, I have had a yeast infection on and off for a month and a half now. I believe I have figured out the cause. My pharmacy recently switched my birth control pills (ortho tricyclerin lo) that I was on for 8 months with NO problems whatsoever to tri lo sprintec. Within 3 weeks after beginning the new kind of pills I got a yeast infection and got a script for diflucan. This cleared it up. Then I started my period and the week after, when I began taking the pills that contain the hormones again, I got another yeast infection. I took diflucan again and it went away for a week and now its back. I am very frustrated because these yeast infections keep coming back.

I also am afraid to have sex because I never know when its going to flair up again and I do not want to pass it to my boyfriend, since we do not use condoms. I know that he does not have it and is not passing it back to me because I got the yeast infection back again already and have not even had sex with him since clearing up the last one. Why would this be happening from the switch in birth control pills? Could I be allergic? (Also, I am 100% positive that these are yeast infections because I had a full std screen 2 weeks ago and I am completely clean.)

Is collidal silver a cure for yeast infections?

I am a diabetic, 23 years old and have had a never ending yeast infection for about a year now. i take medication, goes away for about 3 weeks, then comes back again. I have read in the internet that “colloidal silver” is a good way to cure yeast infections……. does anyone know anything about it and has anyone tried it? or if not, what other ways can i cure this chronic yeast infection.

I certainly wouldn’t use it. The government is trying to get it banned as it causes too many health issues rather than benefits. It can actually cause your skin to turn a blue grey and can cause internal organ toxicity.

More than likely, your blood sugars are too high. Yeast thrives on sugar. You need to keep it constantly below 110. Otherwise you’re going to have this a wile.

Eat more yogurt. The lactobacillus in it likes to counteract the yeast and keep it in check. If you don’t like yogurt, you can get the lactobacillus OTC. I use AZO. Take 2 of them 3 times a day for about a week and then take one a day every day. It’ll help keep you regulated in terms of keeping yeast down and there’s no side effects to it that are harmful.

Anyone have chronic yeast infections? I’ve taken diflucan for 6 days now.?

I’ve taken diflucan for six days now and I stil feel a little bit of yeast/itchiness. Any suggestions other than monastat (tried that for 7 days)?
You are not only going to solve the problem with creams or antibiotics. These are known to be a temporary fix. These in fact can make the problem worse because antibiotics kill the good bacteria. I currently have a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis now and i am combating this problem the natural way. I have tried diflucan and monistat.
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
NEITHER of them helped. Monistat made the itching and burning much worse and caused swelling. Diflucan just helped temporarily. I am going to provide you with some recommendations. Eat plain, non fat yogurt with no added sugar. It contains L.acidophilus, the good bacteria we need in our guts to keep bad bacteria and yeasts in check. When these are diminished, infections are likely to arise. Limit your intake of sugar and carbs as these feed yeasts and bacteria.

Eat a diet rich in lean proteins and veggies. Incorporate raw garlic into your diet or take garlic supplements, the enteric coated capsule kind. Garlic acts as a natural antiobiotic with antibacterial, antifungal properties. Other natural herbs that act as natural antibiotics that you can buy in supplement form are grapefruit seed extract, colloidal silver, and echinacea & goldenseal(you can try these two in tea form as well).

Build your immune system with vitamins such as Vitamin A&D, C, Folic Acid. Take acidophilus or probiotics supplements with live cultures. Ever since i have had this, i’ve been doing tons of research and after almost a month I am feeling much better. My itching is almost completely gone and the burning sensation when urinating is gone as well. The only thing left is getting rid of this discharge and swelling.

Candida is such a nasty parasitic yeast and once you get it and don’t treat it right away it can make itself at home in your body living off of you and what you eat. Most people do not realize that their symptoms are a result of Candida and like me do nothing about it for many years.

Going to a primary care physician about Candida can be very frustrating because they don’t seem to be very informed about it. I asked my physician about this study that shows how Candida can cause anemia in its host by utilizing its iron for growth.

To this day he has not gotten back to me.
I also have anxiety issues that have resulted in obsessive compulsive disorder. Mainly about safety and having to wash my hands several times and check plugs and the stove to make sure they are not on. Anxiety and OCD can be a result of Candida or other digestive issues.

I just found it upsetting when I was asking the doctor about Candida Symptoms and Candida Treatment options that I was given a prescription for Prozac. Drugs for the anxiety and OCD would do nothing at treating the cause of my symptoms. It would just be a band aid solution. I urge everyone to be crusaders for their own health.

Symptoms of Yeast Infections
The main symptom of this type of inflammation is intense itching, burning and redness of the vaginal tissues.
Treatment of Yeast Infections
In general, local application of antifungal therapy is effective in treating yeast vaginitis. There does, however, seem to be two distinct types of patients with this condition. The most common type of patient has isolated, infrequent vaginal yeast infections that respond readily to topical therapy.
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
The other type of patient has frequently recurring infections that may become chronic and even intractable. Most providers of women’s health care are familiar with this condition of recurrent yeast vaginitis. A large number of antifungal agents are currently available for the treatment of vulvo-vaginal candidiasis.
There are two major classes of modern antifungal agents; the polyenes (nystatin, amphotericin) and the imidazole derivatives. The earlier imidazoles (miconazole and clotrimazole) and the newer imidazoles (butoconazole and ketoconazole) now provide the mainstay of antifungal therapy, although the polyenes may still be employed effectively.
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
For relief of simple yeast vaginitis, numerous agents in various doses have been successfully employed with success rates that vary from 70 to 95 percent. Nystatin vaginal suppositories can be inserted twice daily for 10 days or twice daily for seven days, followed by once daily for seven days. This has been a widely used regimen for years.
In some situations, a single oral dose of fluconazole (Diflucan) appears to be as effective as a seven-day course of daily topical treatment with clotrimazole for treating vaginal infections. Because this is a convenient and effective treatment, it is being used more frequently, however, it is usually more expensive than topical treatment.

Yeast Infection Knowledge
Yeast Infection is first and foremost an internal problem. Like most chronic conditions, there is never one cause for this fungal problem and thus yeast infection cannot be permanently eliminated using medications or creams that work superficially and fail to tackle the root factors that trigger the formation of candida infection in the first place.

If you suffer from yeast infection then you must have experienced the confusion stemmed from conflicting advice and from information overload. Honest information about vaginal yeast infection or any other type of candida infection is harder to come by than ever before, and nearly everyone has been misled at one time or another.

I know I have. I wasted literally thousands of dollars on candida treatment programs that didnt work out and anti-yeast infection products that didnt do anything. There are in fact, alternative, cheap, safe, natural and holistic health practices and methods necessary to permanently eliminate the symptoms of this disease and cure the root internal cause of yeast infection regardless of its type, location, or level of severity.

To effectively overcome candida infection, you need to be aware of the real cause of yeast infection and be able to identify its symptoms. You need to know how to self-test and diagnose your candida condition, learn about the dietary principals needed to maintain a candida free environment and about the complimentary treatments that will help you battle against the negative effects and complications of your yeast infection.

I have chronic yeast infections that are immune to antibiotics. What do I do?
November 9, 2010 by admin
I’ve had chronic vaginal yeast infections for over a year, and they keep getting more and more severe it seems no matter what I do. The yeast keeps getting immune to antifungals and no matter what treatment I use it comes back within 3 days. It’s so bad, that it even grows effectively in some anti-fungal creams like miconozal and monostat. I’ve tried everything from dieting to douching with hydrogen peroxide. Lately I have been getting horrible cramps and nausea. I’m afraid that this condition will kill me. Can someone please help?
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
Basically the reason you have a yeast infection is because there’s an imbalance in your body. A healthy person has a balance between the yeast in their body and the good bacteria in their body.
Too much yeast, you have a yeast infection. Too much bacteria, you have a bacterial infection.
So, when you have a yeast infection you essentially have too much yeast in your body relative to the good bacteria. The natural way to treat it and bring back that balance is to starve the yeast and introduce more good bacteria into your body.
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
Oh and BTW – That’s why you often get relief from using the over the counter meds temporarily, and then the yeast infection comes back. The creams aren’t changing the source of the problem. They are just killing the yeast they come in contact with, and not balancing the yeast/bacteria in your body and actually sometimes end up making things a lot worse.
Oh BTW2 – That’s also why many times you’ll get a yeast infection after using antibiotics. Antibiotics kill all the bacteria in your body, the good and the bad. When that happens the balance between the yeast and good bacteria is off, and once again and you get a yeast infection.
Things you can add to your diet (to help promote good bacteria) are live yogurt cultures (or take Acidophilus), plenty of water, fresh vegetables, lots of protein rich foods, whey protein, raw garlic, nuts, seeds, oils, millet, rice and oat brans
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
Things you should remove from your diet (to starve the yeast) are all sodas, sugars, fruit, fermented foods, foods containing white flour, alcohol (especially beer), antacids and any product that has yeast or mold
Changing your diet will definitely get you on the road to balancing the yeast and good bacteria, but what I would also recommend is to use a homeopathic solution to help naturally speed up the process.
I always feel if there’s a natural way to do something, then it’s best to avoid the chemicals. I would look for an natural product, that can be taken orally to promote re-growth of the good bacteria in your body.
There are a few out there, I think they are probably all pretty good. One that I have used and was very effective for me was is yeastrol.
Best of Luck!
Hope this helps and best of luck!

I’ve been having chronic yeast infections for about 5 months now. Do I have HIV or were they just not cured?
November 7, 2010 by admin

I had unprotected sex six months ago. I’m getting tested tomorrow…but it will take a week or two before I get test results. AND I’m scared.
I read somewhere that women who do have HIV get chronic yeast infections because of their weakened immune system. Wouldn’t that mean I should’ve gotten sick from coming in contact with my neice who had the flu? Or gotten sick from my classmates who had colds or something? I haven’t gotten sick at all! (knock on wood)
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
Furthermore…I heard that if you don’t wait at least 9-10 for your yeast infection to be cured before having sex, it will come back again? So maybe all this time, I just haven’t cured it? My gyno prescribed these pills for me to take…it worked in the beginning..but now i feel immuned to it or something. I don’t know… someone help me!
FYI: I’m a 22 y/o female…I exercise a lot…I have a healthy diet (tofu, lean meat, veggies, whole wheat breads) and I do drink a lot with friends almost every weekend.

To Rea4154:
Yeast infections ARE ONE OF THE SYMPTOMS of HIV…I know that they are not the same. I know that yeast infections are not deadly. I never said that I was going to die from a yeast infection…but because I had concurrent yeast infections, I was worried that I was diagnosed with HIV (which I am not by the way…i just got my test results today..so YAY! on my part). You should read my question/details carefully…I’m not the idiot…you just made yourself look like a fool. By looking at your statistics…it seems like you only have 6% best answers…hmmm..i wonder why?
Hiv results from a viral exposure leading to a weakened and compromised immune system.Constant diharrea (spelling?) white spots in the mouth, mouth sores often and hoarseness, are some initial symptoms. Also one develops such as pneumonia and /or a cancer can happen as it worsens. Any relationship or sexual encounter less than 6 months time ( to be sure it is exclusive first)SHOULD use protection or there is a risk of any std, including hiv/aids.
Go Here To Learn More About Candidiasis/Yeast Infection
This has been known to not show up in a person until 5-10 years of exposure. The BEST thing to do is get tested. The waiting is the worst part for the result. Be patient and busy to not focus on this. Try other means of treating the yeast infection. There are one dosage over the counter products at drugstores now. Chronic yeast infections signal something is out of balance in the body. I would look up yeast infections on a medical site here for more accurate info on how to best treat this.Try mayoclinic dot com and enter yeast infection in the search bar. Then click on treatment when this comes up there. You can also check causes of this there.
My sympathy to you to have this repeatedly. I have found that eating yogurt with active cultures especially when one takes an antibiotic is helpful to prevent these, and can be used to treat this as well. If you want more info on how to with that, then add me as a contact on here and I can let you know.
On the drinking , just so you know, the statistics show that women should NOT have more than ONE alcoholic drink daily if they do this often. This can and will increase breast cancer risk if done in greater amounts regularly.I would stop the drinking as it can cause liver and kidney damage later in life that can be very serious.
